   * The Catholic mythology uses saints and angels instead of minor gods, as other mythologies do. The Catholic mythology sees nature as base, animalistic and unclean. For this reason, they try to separate themselves from nature, and see it as something for them to control and mold into their own image. For this same reason, their saints are designed for people and professions, not aspects of nature. There is no saint for fire, but there is for firemen, no saint for the sea, but for sailors, no saint for fertility or growth, but for farmers, and so on. So in the chart above remember that catholic saints are for the person, not the aspect of nature. There are over 600 catholic saints.
